SCOTT, Robert Julian (Bob)

It is with deep sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Bob at his home on 4th May 2023; aged 86 years. Cherished husband of Helen, and much loved Dad of Simon and Nicholas (deceased). Devoted father-in-law of Tracey, and Boppa of Jasper and Jensen. A memorial service to celebrate Bob’s life will be held at the Mercury Bay Club, 69 Cook Drive, Whitianga, on Friday 12th May at 11.30am. All welcome.

FULCHER, Cherry (nee Campbell)

Passed away peacefully on Friday 5th May 2023. Dearly loved wife of the late Brian. Cherished Mum of Janne, Cathy and John, Sandra, Kenneth and Louise. Adored Nanna of Kent, Sarah, Kate, Kerry, Luke, Samantha, Geena and their partners. Much loved Nanna Cherry of her 9 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. Special Aunty to Toni and Wally, Nicki, Mark and Cheryl and their families. Loved by all her wider family. A celebration of Cherry’s life will be held in Cornwall Manor, cnr of Knights Road & Cornwall Street, Lower Hutt on Friday 12th May 2023 at 2.00pm, followed by a private cremation.

Born October 16, 1929. Passed away peacefully at home on May 6, 2023. Loved wife of the late Edward McKenna, mother of Anthony, Maria, Brian, Sean, Deirdrie, and Donna, mother-in-law, grandmother, and great-grandmother to many. A service to celebrate Betty’s life will be held in the White Rose Chapel, 75 Cook Street, Hamilton East, on Wednesday, 10 May 2023, at 1.00pm.

Passed away at home on May 6, 2023, aged 77 years. Much loved husband of Fiona, and loved father and father-in-law of Jake and Kimberly, Nick and Sarah, Liz and Ben, and Jo and Michael. Treasured grandfather of Ashton, Trent, Campbell, Finn, Gigi, Toby, Ollie, Patrick, Abbey and James. A service to celebrate Gerry’s life will be held at The Boatshed, 21 Amber Lane, Cambridge, on Friday, May 12, at 1.00pm. Donations to the Prostate Cancer Foundation appreciated.

On May 5, 2023, at Rosebank Lifecare, Ashburton, in her 93rd year. Dearly loved wife of the late George and more recently partner of Gilbert Donaldson. Much loved mother and mother-in-law of Jill and Murray Greenwood, Wayne and Susie, Cynthia and partner John Hobson, and Michael and partner Martine Cooshna. Adored and respected Nana of Jonathan, Stephanie and Brent; Jodi and Alex, Lisa and Stu, and Glenn and Alex; Sarah and Sam, Simon and Michelle, and Julia and Callum; Amy and Paul, and Anthony and Georgia, and great-Nana of her dozen great-grandchildren. A private family service of committal will be followed by a Memorial service for Rona at St David’s Union Church, Allens Road, Ashburton, on Thursday, May 11, commencing at 2.30pm.

BHULA, John Nana (Nanubhai Manga/Johnny Bhai)

We are sad to announce the passing of John Bhula on 6 May 2023, aged 79. John passed peacefully on Saturday morning in the presence of dedicated Hospital staff. Much loved husband to Khusum and the proud father and father-in-law to Rajesh, Raymond and Renuka, and his three granddaughters Priya, Jayani and Kenisha of whom he much adored. John was the brother to the late Naranbhai, Santiben and Motibhai, Nandi and Naniben, and brother-in-law to Nathu, Nagin, and Jayanti Bhai and both Savitaben’s. Uncle John to 29 nephews and nieces. Heartfelt thanks go out to the many staff at Hutt Hospital for the care and attention they gave John over the past few years and especially the last two weeks. A celebration of John’s, Nanubhai’s (John’s) life will be held in the Lower Hutt Events Centre, Laings Road, Lower Hutt, on Thursday 11th May 2023 at 11.00am, followed by private cremation. In lieu of flowers, donations to the NZ Cancer Society would be much appreciated.

MISIRLAKIS, Michael

On 3 May 2023 Michael unexpectedly passed away in Levin, New Zealand, at the age of 64. He was born in Chania, Crete, on 29 August 1958. Michael is the much loved and respected father of Anastasios and Erini. He is survived by his mother, Sofia and sister, Stella. He is much loved by his relatives and friends in Australia, New Zealand and Crete. The viewing will be held on Wednesday, 10 May between 6-8pm at Harbour City Funeral Home, 56 Onepu Road, Kilbirne, Wellington. TEU-WHITTAKER, Te Atarangi (Tia)

It is the saddest of days, and it breaks my heart to write this post. Our special little warrior princess, has fought her last battle. This world was never good enough for you our precious Te Atarangi. You touched the heart of everyone you met in your short time here, and we are all better people for knowing you. We will always remember your cheeky smile, and your bubbly little laugh, especially when you were being a mischief. Your little body may have held you back, but we all saw the amazing life in your eyes. Mummy said it best, you’re running now my princess, doing your marathon. We love you forever and ever Tia. A celebration of Tia’s life will be held in William Cotton & Sons Chapel, 29 Beattie Street, Feilding, on Thursday 11th May 2023 at 1.30pm, followed by private cremation.
