Born July 3, 1945 in Voss, Norway, died May 4, 2023 in Christchurch. Wife of Alan, mother of Trond and Maja, Mormor to Ruby, Isobel, Tessa, and Ida, Farmor to Sigurd. Daughter of Margit and Alv Sørheim, sister to Liv and Berit. In lieu of flowers, donations to Cancer Society would be appreciated and can be made directly via their website. The memorial service for Svanaug will be held at St Paul’s Lutheran Church, 130 Burwood Road, on Monday, May 15, at 10.00am

HUNT, Jennifer Thyrsa

On May 5, 2023, peacefully at Rosebank Lifecare, Ashburton, aged 87 years. Much loved wife of Barrie. Dearly loved mother and mother-in-law of Cindi and Tony Crooks, Diane and the late Jonathan Hunt, and the late Verona Hunt. Passed away unexpectedly
at Te Nikau Grey Hospital, surrounded by her loving family on May 6, 2023, aged 71. Deeply loved mum and mother-in-law of Doug and Tracey, and Bronwyn and Alan Beaumont, loved nana of Philippa, Patricia, Anthony, Danica, Luella, and Jakob, cherished great-nana of Lucius, and Rylan, loved daughter of the late Leonard and Daphne Bruning, a loved sister and sister-in-law of Vicky and Don Sixtus, Alan and Kristine, Betsy and the late Ted Sixtus, Janice and the late Leo Hodson, George, Dick, Mary and Bruce Read, and the late Max, a loved aunty, cousin, and a friend of many. Together at last with

PIERCE, Evelyn June (June) (formerly Hurst)(née Smales)

On May 8, 2023, in her 88th year at Ashburton Hospital. Dearly loved wife and best friend of the late Gerald Pierce, sister of Roger Smales. Proud, devoted, and much loved Gran to Katie (Hurst-Saxton). Dearly loved and sadly missed Mum and mother-in-law of Lynda and Steve (Saxton). Mother of Paul, and John (Hurst), step-mother to Scott, David, and Ben (Pierce). A special Gran to her grandchildren.

Passed away peacefully on May 8, 2023, aged 82 years. Much loved wife of the late Edward Leslie Head. Loved mother and mother-in-law of Graeme and Sandra, Lisa and Nik. ROBERTSHAWE, Constance Mary Noel (Con)

After a long illness Con was freed from her chains to this world to be with her God and sing in the heavenly choir, dying on Friday 5 May 2023 at Tainui Village, New Plymouth, in her 86th year. Loved daughter of the late Noel and Nancy Robertshawe and dear sister to Rosamond, John, Mark (dec), Ralph and Helen, and sister-in-law to Eileen, Gloria and Diana. Con was a devoted nurse and hospital matron, a lover of music, pianist and Choir singer, an avid golfer, very hospitable and a good friend to many. The family wish to thank those at Tainui who cared for Con over recent years and offer especial appreciation to Bali Haque who has managed her affairs since her illness commenced. No flowers please but a donation to the Taranaki Cathedral Project would be appreciated and may be left at the service. Con, a valued former member of the Tainui Home Trust Board. Con gave generously of herself to Tainui Village residents, visiting and advocating where needed. Proactive in the support of staff particularly the nurses and carers where her field of expertise lay. After a lifetime of serving, Con is now at rest with her beloved Lord. A life well lived. Tainui staff and resident’s send their sincerest condolences to Con’s family.

On Monday, May 8, 2023, peacefully surrounded by his family, aged 78. Dearly loved and cherished husband of Jean. Much loved father of Paul and Bronwyn. Beloved father-in-law of Adele and Craig.
