Problems with TV reception

James from Waikanae

I am not seeing a picture, just a black screen when I switch to channel 4 (Bravo), 8 (Eden) or 14 (Rush) or when I get a picture it is jumping from one image to another like a slide show.

Interestingly 18 (Eden+1) is ok!

I am in Waikanae.

Anyone else getting this problem.

Horrors for the Hurricanes.

They are losing at least a couple of important players for the 2025 Super Pacific Rugby comp but whilst the locking department is going to be taken care of with a couple of exciting young newcomers of substantial build, losing the young super promising Josh Moorby on the wing who is also a more than adequate fullback filler, is a big loss.

A consideration for the All Blacks, Moorby would you believe it, is chasing the big bucks in France.

But it leaves the Hurricanes shy of a real top notch wing. The Hurricanes who will immediately next season be among the favourites to win the SPR, will need to entice a quality, proven speed merchant winger from somewhere.

Of the other wings in the Hurricanes fold in 2023 apart from Salesi Rayasi none are up to a high standard and these include Kini Naholo, Ngane Punivai and Bailyn Sullivan. Dan Sinkinson did show some promise this year and I was surprised he didn't get more chances to show his abilities.
Hurricanes cannot afford to mess around. Just like this year they will need to come out guns blazing first match up in 2025 and with at least two speedy multi skilled wings.

The recipients also reap promotion and publicity for their particular charitable etc work. wanted or not. The other gives nothing but a spot on television and perhaps assitance of publicity and promotion.

In many programmes I have watched of the latter the difference between the money winners and the no-money winners is blurred beyond reason. I sit there thinking why didn't that person feature on the other programme and receive a sponsored cash reward?

And there is no cross over ie once you have been on one programme you are not going to be on the other at any latter stage.

Shame on TV One.

MOA NO MORE

Maori hunted the Moa into oblivion.

Moa were quite harmless flightless birds..

I see other races in other parts of the world had .made pets from otherwise otherwise lethal animals from crocodiles to elephants from snakes to lions from eagles to emus.

Perhaps we would have moa still with us today if Maori who had dogs as pets, had looked to tame some moa.
