The new dog agility exercise area was installed last week at the dog park on the corner of Horotiu Road and Great South Road, and it’s already proving to be a big hit with locals.
Last night there were a large number of dog owners and their dogs trying out the new equipment, with many commenting that it was the busiest they’ve seen the park.
Waikato District Council staff came up with the idea when they were removing the old equipment at the Te Kowhai playground, as part of its playground replacement programme.
A doggy fun day will be held at Horotiu Dog Park on Saturday 11 March from 10am to 2pm. Bring your pooch along for a play. There will be a sausage sizzle, entertainment and spot prizes for the dogs.

Phil Evan's anti-cat tactics are proving to be a divisive topic with people voicing strong opinions on both sides of the debate.
Evans has taken to trapping cats in his backyard, soaking them then shooting them off his property with a hose jet so they don't return.
What's your take on other people's cats roaming through backyards? Is Evans justified in protecting his property? And do you think something needs to be done at council level to address the issue?
NOTE: Please refrain from personal attacks in comments - play the ball and not the man. Also put NFP in your comment if you do not want it to be reported in the Times.

After filling the Jetski at the pump, he forgot to put the seat back on and left it sitting on the rear platform of the JetSki. Despite searching along the roadside not long after realising his oversight we have not been able to locate the seat. If you have seen it or picked it up and not sure where it belongs we'd love to hear from you. Sadly no more Jetskiing until the seat is found. Thanks, phone Hubby who's not very pleased with himself on 021 723375.

I'm looking for a small desk to do my study on. Corner desk, area for a printer, just a plain desk with a drawer.
Relatively cheap or free as being a student is rather tight.
Many thanks,
