This is your chance to celebrate your hood by sharing stories, photos or video. We really want to see and hear about the people in your neighbourhood. Portraits or videos of our neighbourhood champions, or the people that to you personify your community or ‘hood’. This year we’re doing it a little differently. To help focus (excuse the photography pun) we’ve chosen three themes.

1 – I Heart the History of My Hood

Everywhere we live has history, and stories. Do you know your hood’s history? Or maybe you know someone who has lived in the community for what seems like a million years, and know the place like that back of their hand. Was your hood the birth place of the women’s vote, or maybe site of the biggest lamington ever made way back in 53′ ….(Yes I know, random, but honestly we’re interesting in anything and everything)… By the way – this is also an awesome way to get our older ‘story tellers’ involved.

2 – I Heart Diversity in my Hood

New Zealand really has become a melting pot and that brings with it the rainbow of diversity of all kinds. Maybe you have the ‘united nations’ living on one street, maybe your neighbourhood pot luck dinners are better and more interesting than an international food fair could every dream of! We want to see and hear about it.

3 – I Heart My Healthy Hood

With our clean green image, amazing fresh foods, picture perfect outdoor environment, we know there are neighbourhoods out there that personify ‘health’. Is your neighbourhood or neighbour one of them? It could be through a neighbourhood walking group, or a ‘from garden to plate thanks to the shared neighbourhood community garden’ kind of thing. It might be a neighbourhood that has committed to getting the kids off screens and outside, or maybe its a whole street of cross fit power vegans ….. probably not … but you never know. What ever it is, we want to see and hear about it.

To enter go to our website and ‘share your story’

So get snapping and chatting. We have more information on I Heart My Hood available on facebook and on our website.

It is with much regret that I have decided to sell my EuroVan Campa6 pop top camper. Since my accident last year, I now find it almost impossible to lift and manage the camper and therefore it is time to sell.

The things I will miss the most is the comfort - thick foam mattress for all the 3 double beds (eg. sleeps 6 in camper and more in the awning if necessary); the fact that the canvas is dark brown which means it remains nice and dark in the morning (unlike in a tent where as soon as it is light, so is the tent) and the fact that you are off the ground so when it rains, there are no problems when in the camper.

There are lots of windows and they have plastic on the outside to protect from rain but this can be rolled up to let more air in. The windows also have mosquito nets on them. Most windows can roll up or zip open to let lots of light and ventilation through.

It has a sink and gas hob that connects to a 15kg bottle, three kitchen cupboards under the kitchen bench for storage, a pantry unit that hangs up above the bench, a separate 3 drawer unit for more storage and two huge storage areas underneath the couch/double bed. There is also a table that can be set up when one bed isn't in use and the two main beds, at either end of the camper, can stay set up permanently for your entire camp.

We've also added roof racks on top for carrying a small boat, kayaks or bikes, a metal cabinet on the front for gas bottle, power cords, etc as well as a tube for storing all the pools for the awning.
It has a current registration until 10/11/17 and I will get a WOF for it prior to sale.

This camper is in good, second hand condition. There are a few patches on the canvans but no leaks in the camper or awning canvas. The awning is held up by poles so there are no guy ropes (so not trip hazards).
For anyone interested, the best idea is to come and take a look for yourself.

I have tried to take some photos to give an idea of what it looks like but weren't able to set it up completely due to the rain coming and didn't want to close it up wet. The second photo only shows a portion of the end and there should be a frame holding the canvas up to form one of the beds. The photos of the inside are of the camper packed ready to close up so the cooker is upside down (it gets flipped over on onto the cubpoard unit). PS: Cat not included!!!

You can contact me on 021-221-8857. Regards, Christine.

It will be used to cover some of our pallets, home made see saw and possibly the top of a tyre that has been filled in. Our horses, ponies & donkeys will go up and over these obstacles, so needs to be in reasonable condition. Needs to cover about 11 metres by 1.5 all up, but sections might be okay. Free would be great!
