Why Welfare Fails

You don't multiply wealth by dividing it. Government cannot give anything to anybody that it doesn't first take from somebody else. Whenever somebody receives something without working for it, somebody else has to work for it without receiving. The worst thing that can happen to a nation is for half of the people to get the idea they don't have to work because somebody else will work for them, and the other half to get the idea that it does no good to work because they don't get to enjoy the fruits of their labor.

Equity vs covid

We are naturally cynical when someone professes a belief in a virtue but then fails to put that belief into practice in their own life. The idea of judging a person by their actions rather than by their words has longstanding merit for this reason.

Why should one demand all others provide them with the means to achieve equal outcomes, without first redistributing their own wealth equally to the individuals in their own to show their own, unequivocal commitment to equity? Where is the equity in that?

The couple that went to Wanaka in breach of Covid 19 rules showed a sense of entitlement, both in their believe that they could , and the scamming of the essential workers exemption to achieve their aim.

Further entitlement ensues with because the parent of one of them is a high ranking official their names should be suppressed

so it looks like entitlement is intergenerational ...or a learned behaviour

They do not wished to be shamed.

There is no father figure here , Saying my son / daughter transgressed, I offer my apologies for their behaviour , and expect the full force of the law to apply..as we are not above it...

Entitlement needs to be stamped out

What part of society breeds this arrogance, what no doubt elite school did they attend, that fostered such believes or at the very least did not curb them.

We need to know, to place them along with such schools that have recently been exposed as hotbeds of abuse.

We need an onslaught of internet memes that exposes the perpetuation of entitlement, the disconnect that emboldens all those that believe they are beyond the law of the rest of mere mortals

We shoot a terrorist running amok with a knife,,,the potential real harm of spreading covid is just a lethal to those that catch it.

Lets start an Facebook post Entitlement is..........you all fill in the blanks

SAD BUT SO VERY TRUE .....
After dinner a teacher started checking homework done by her students. Her husband is strolling around with a smart phone playing his favorite game ‘Candy Crush Saga’.
When reading the last homework notes, the wife starts crying with silent tears....

Her husband saw this and asked, ‘Why are you crying dear? What happened?’

Wife: ‘Yesterday I gave homework to my 1st Standard students, to write something on the topic ... 'MY WISH ’

Husband: ‘OK, but why are you crying?’

Wife: ‘Today while checking the last notes, it made me cry.’

Husband curiously: ‘What’s written in the notes that makes you cry?’

Wife: LISTEN......

My wish is to become a smart phone.

My parents love their smart phone very much.

They care about their smart phone so much that sometimes they forget to care for me.

When my father comes from the office tired, he has time for his smart phone but not for me.

When my parents are doing some important work and smart phone is ringing, within single ring they attend the phone, but not to me...

even if I am crying.

They play games on their smart phones not with me.

When they are talking to someone on their smart phone, they never listen to me even if I am telling them something important.

So, MY WISH is to become a smart phone.

After listening to the note my husband got emotional and asked the wife, ‘Who wrote this??’.

Wife: ‘OUR SON ’......

Gadgets are beneficial, but they are for our ease not to cease the love amongst family and loved ones.

Children see and feel everything what happens with & around them. Things get imprinted on their mind with an everlasting effect. Let’s take due care, so that they do not grow with any false impressions...
