Could you please take note and distribute to your networks as necessary.
The tsunami sirens installed along Christchurch’s coastline from Brooklands to Taylors Mistake will be tested as part of a biannual testing exercise to coincide with daylight savings.
The sirens will sound for up to three minutes and can usually be heard a few blocks from the coastline.
If you live near the coast, it’s a good time to check whether you are in a tsunami evacuation zone and to work out a plan with your family.

Older people can worry about having a fall, so much so that their activity reduces and they move less. Their strength decreases, affecting their balance and the risk of a fall increases.
