For the third year running, Biketober Christchurch brings you 31 days of biking activities for a wide range of interests and abilities right around the city for the month of October. There are over 50 activities happening during Biketober, including rides, cycle skills, kids events, workshops, movies, and just good excuses for socialising with bike-minded folks!
Don’t forget too to sign up for the Biketober Passport and be in to win some great prizes ($8000 worth!); ride to over 40 different businesses and events around Christchurch, collect a special code for your Passport, and then come along to the grand Prize-Giving – the more places visited, the better!

With a huge… View moreThe feature event of Biketober Chch this coming week has to be the 2nd NZ Bike Expo, being held at Wigram Airforce Museum next Sat 13th and Sun 14th Oct. Are you looking for a new bike or some biking gear? Perhaps you want to find out about the new cycleways or cycle touring or e-bikes? With a huge array of exhibitors, demonstrations and other fun activities, there is literally something for every kind of biking fan (or would-be fan).
Open from 10am to 5pm each day, just $10 for adults. Check out the website for more details - nzbikeexpo.nz.... There are even guided bike rides to the Expo from town on both days if you want to avoid the hassle of finding a carpark.

The first weekend cranks it up with "Pedal into Spring" on Saturday afternoon (6th) - come along to Rauora Park from 12.30pm, bring a friend or family and then choose how you want to explore town by bike. Visit the shops? Hunt down the street art? Something for the kids? There's a dozen different rides to choose from!
And if that's not enough, this weekend also sees a Build-a-bike-trailer workshop, Heathcote Express cycleway ride, social MTB rides, Meet in the Middle along the Avon-Otakaro, Women's Suffrage Ride, and much more! Don't forget too to pick a Biketober Passport and visit some of the 40 businesses for discounts and prizes. Last year, we enjoyed over 60 different events happening throughout the month; this year, the calendar is chocka with at least 80 activities to choose from! Guided rides, NZ Bike Expo, beginner MTB sessions, bike repair workshops, kids skills fun days, social events - the list is endless...
The Biketober Passport is also back again, with 40 different businesses around the city awaiting your custom and the chance to win prizes.
