FREE! Yoga for Periods Workshop

The team from Auckland Women's Centre

We are pleased to offer everyone this free yoga workshop next weekend! 😍 (Saturday the 29th of May, 10:30am - 11:30am).

Yoga is for all - but menstruating women need to adjust their practice over the month, from one menstruation to the next menstruation. In this class, Julia Vajda de Albuquerque will share a specific asana sequence for the period days. Participants will learn what asanas should be avoided during their period, what asanas may help to relieve cramps and abdominal pains, and how to establish a monthly practice to get rid of mood swings of the body and mind and maintain a hormonal balance, as thought by Dr Geeta S. Iyengar.

Email info@womenz.org.nz to register. We have a limited supply of yoga mats that can be used for free at the centre 😊

Some Choice News!

Kia pai from Sharing the Good Stuff

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.

Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.

Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?

Thanks for your mahi, Alan! We hope this brings a smile!
