The Post has been diving into our daily habits, and research suggests being an early bird or a night owl isn’t just a choice—it’s biology! We all have that specific time when our brains finally "click" into gear.

This raises a big question for the modern workplace. To get the best out of everyone, should employers accommodate our natural body clocks? This idea is at the heart of the four-day work week and flexible scheduling movements.

We want to hear from you:
1. When does your brain "click" into gear?
2. Would a flexible (or shortened) schedule change the way you work?

On the first anniversary of his passing, we honour the life and legacy of Pope Francis — a universally admired and deeply loved Holy Father — with a special recital in the gracious acoustic of St Michael’s Catholic Church, Remuera, by kind permission of Fr. Tony Dunn.

The choir will be joined by acclaimed soprano Elizabeth Mandeno, organist Philip Smith, and a small orchestra for a programme of profound beauty and reverence. The centrepiece of the evening is John Rutter’s Requiem, complemented by works from Poulenc, Howells, Harris, Artley and Duruflé — music chosen to reflect the compassion, humility, and spiritual depth that characterised Pope Francis’ papacy.

Tuesday 21 April | 7.30pm
St Michael’s Catholic Church, Remuera

We warmly invite you to share in this evening of remembrance, reflection, and exquisite choral music.

But as technology evolves, so do the brands leading the market. In recent years, Hisense has stepped forward as one of the strongest and most reliable TV manufacturers, offering impressive quality at a price point that makes sense for most households.

If you’ve recently replaced a Panasonic TV with a Hisense model, you’ve likely already noticed the difference — and in many ways, it’s an upgrade worth celebrating.

Why Hisense Has Become a Top Choice

Hisense has invested heavily in modern display technology, smart features, and build quality. The result is a TV lineup that consistently punches above its price range.

Key strengths of Hisense:

• Excellent picture quality with vibrant colours and strong contrast
• UHD 4K and QLED options that rival premium brands
• Smooth motion handling, great for sports and gaming
• Built‑in Smart TV features (VIDAA or Google TV) with fast, intuitive navigation
• Strong reliability backed by solid warranties
• Outstanding value for money

Hisense has essentially taken the space Panasonic once dominated — offering dependable TVs that perform well for everyday Kiwi households.

He says the brain is like Velcro for negative experiences, but Teflon for positive ones – we remember negative things more easily than positive things.

He suggests that we ‘tilt towards the good’ in order to level the playing field. He says if we spend time savouring and enjoying a good experience, more neurons fire and thus wire together, actually changing our brains for the better. So to balance out the challenging times, see if you can "Take in the good" to even things out. Take care - Eve

If you want to experience more good things for your mind, come and soothe body and mind with a small group for a gentle mindfulness session of ease and peace. The session includes gentle movement and relaxing simple meditation.
Next one is on Monday 16 March 1.30 - 2.45pm, Meadowbank Community Centre. Come and see what it is like! Contact me - the first session free, then Koha welcome. 021 255 1485
Ongoing on the 3rd Monday of the month.

Click Read More to find out more about what I do - I also offer one-on-one mental wellbeing sessions, a group for experienced meditators, and courses for group bookings.
