Nothing More Valuable Than Reward

In fact I would say it is a sick joke for staff associated with the hospitals in the Wellington region.

Better than handing out a pen someone said. I don't know about that.

But hey, not far behind is the allowances some Government department staff are getting whenever they are forced/compelled to, or volunteer to, work from home. Added to their pay packet is 78 cents per day per stay at home.

So staying at home means use of power (and in winter add to this heating), food including cups of coffee and tea, wear and tear of own office type equipment including computer and printer. Savings are in the form of travel but if one buys a monthly train ticket for instance, there is little in the way of travel savings.

Who devised the princely sum of 78 cents a day allowance as commendably fair is anybody's guess. But don't blame it this time on Australia.

"I came to SPCA initially when I was found lost and very underweight. I have been looked after for a while and am now ready to find a home!
Although I didn't look my best when I first arrived at SPCA, it didn't take long for me to settle in and start looking healthier and happier. I charm most people I meet, and have lots of love to give. I can be a bit over the top when first meeting other dogs, but have gotten to make some friends and get to win them over with my exuberant greetings. If I were to go home to another dog, it would need to be one who is social and still eager to share playtime with me as an older dog may get annoyed with me. I am better suited to medium to large male dogs so this is my preference for a home. When it comes to training I come across very goofy at first, but am very motivated by treats and have started to pick up training easily. I'd like to continue training in my new home and show you what I'm capable of achieving. Although I can be full of beans at times, I really do love a good cuddle and chill out time with my humans, and once I have a good routine I am sure to flourish in my new home. I am so full of character and bound to provide you with lots of laughs. History of my previous homes is unknown, and for this reason combined with my personality, the team is looking for a home for me with confident children over 10 years or adults. I am looking for a home without cats."

It certainly seems that Elizabeth The 2nd, Queen of Great Britain & Northern Ireland and NZ among others, is ailing at a rather rapidly increasing pace.
Many people in the UK and NZ are hoping for her modernistic and capable grandson William to immediately be transformed to next in succession and take over the role occupied by the Queen. But it looks obvious Charles and Camilla will become King and Queen any day now.

NZ is already a country with both sides of its political aisle looking to dispense with royalty as the head of state and proclaim a republic with an elected president mirrowing to a great extent what a British King or Queen embodies in NZ.

And so the dour, slightly off key and tainted (re Diana) Charles with his unglamorous wife would hasten both NZ (and Australia) becoming republics within the Commonwealth of Nations, do the John Key-thing and fashion a new NZ-own flag and also most likely offically recognise Aotearoa as NZ's number one nation-recognised title.

For me, whoever has at least one Pembroke Corgi they call their own at either Buckingham Palace or Government House gets my support.
