So, I spent a weekend hitting the open homes and seeing what it's like to try to buy as a solo person. Folks, it's tough out there... As an older, single person, it's really tough. Take a look at how I found "the churn" and let me know how it compares to your experience.

We are looking for a two or three-bedroom house to rent in Kaiapoi. We would require something long term (say 5-6 years) and a place with a double garage would be handy. A garden would be nice. We are an older couple with no pets and we don't smoke, my partner works part-time and I have a small quiet business. Something that becomes available to rent anytime from December to late February 2021 is good. We have excellent references. Hope someone can help. Thanks, Lynda W.

This is the body / frame for a massive push lawnmower which we bought with the intention of adding an engine and other missing bits to make it like new again. Unfortunately that didnt happen so here it is for someone else to play with.
$100 ono
Must be picked up

Our ducks used this old fibreglass pond for swimming in, which they loved.
Time for other ducks to like it too.
It has a small hole in the side which could be fixed with some fibreglass fixing stuff, otherwise holds water nicely.
$50 ono
Must be picked up.
Negotiable

Three bean bags - the black one and cream / white one need some sewing to fix some splits.
The cream / white one is made by Fatboy and is made of thick vinyl. This one is also massive - over a metre wide.
The rugby ball one has no splits
They all have beans in them ready to go.

Would you be put off by a health warning at your local swimming spot?
Around 100 popular swimming locations across the country have been slapped with health warnings for the summer season this year.
Local councils reported long-term poor water quality due to the presence of algal blooms and high concentrations of sediment in popular swimming spots like Lake Rotorua, Waikanae Beach and Paraparaumu Beach. Some of these sites have had consistently low scoring that local councils have stopped monitoring them and have instead posted long-term warning signs against swimming.
Swimmers that ignore signs risk gastrointestinal illnesses and respiratory diseases from water made hazardous by farm runoff, sewage contamination and high bacteria counts.
