Their lawyers have asked the city council stop all work towards the demolition of the theatre, according to an email from acting Hamilton City Council boss Sean Murray.
The Theatre of the Impossible Trust (TOTI) intends to seek a review of the council’s decision through the High Court.
In May, councillors voted 9-4 to demolish Founders and transform the site into a multipurpose park.
