Aged 87 – preferably known as Ria or Riet, Mum or Oma, passed away quickly and peacefully on Sunday, May 14, 2023 after a brief stay at the Dementia Care Facility, Charles Upham Retirement Village. Beloved wife of Henri of 60 years, treasured mother and mother-in-law to Jude and Russell, New Plymouth, Brandon and Dale, Christchurch, Marcus and Allanah, Australia, adored Oma to Thomas, Henry, Bradley, Paris, Brieana, Nathan and their partners, very much loved and always missed by her Nederlandse family. Thank you to all the caring staff at Burwood Hospital and Charles Upham Dementia Care Facility.

Pat (until recently living in Otaki) passed away peacefully in her 96th year on 21 May 2023 in Wellington. Dearly loved wife of the late Ron. Much loved mother and mother-in-law of Sue and John (Wellington) and Robin and Margaret (USA). Much loved by her grandchildren Chloe and Leigh (NZ), and Gigi and Robben (USA). TULLOCH, John Malcolm Christopher (Jack)

041818 LCpl 2nd NZEF WW2 of Mosgiel, formerly of St Andrews Hill, Christchurch and Greymouth. Peacefully on Tuesday, May 23, 2023, at Birchleigh Residential Care Centre; aged 101 years. He enjoyed great support from Birchleigh staff over the last 3 years. Dearly loved husband of the late Veta, much loved father and father-in-law of Andrew (Andy) and Evelyn (Dunedin), loved grandad of Steven, Kathryn, and Craig and Kristin. A good life well lived. A service for Jack will be held in Campbell and Sons Chapel, 95 Gordon Road, Mosgiel at 2.00pm, on Tuesday, May 30, followed by private cremation. 1953 — 2023
Pareora and Waimate. Much loved son of the late Rev. Malcolm and Margaret Highet (latterly of Geraldine), and brother of John (London), Mac (New York), Alan (New York), Dr Ruth (Wanaka), and Bill Highet (Auckland). A resident of Pareora for the last 20 years, David had travelled extensively, loved the outdoors, was passionate about music and enjoyed meeting new people and learning about lifestyles and religions. Having suffered from schizophrenia and a recurring brain tumour for many years, David passed away at Lister Home in Waimate on May 20. David will be sorely missed by family and friends and remembered for his laugh and his interest in others even during his toughest days. A private burial has been held in Geraldine and donations may be made in David’s name to the Mental Health Foundation of New Zealand (donate.mentalhealth.org.nz).

Soulmate and wife of Crosbie; clever and inspiring mum and mother-in-law to Amanda and Boyd, Kristy and Jonathan; and adored Nan of Leo, Anya, Zara, Ryder and Fritha. Our cherished Candace died peacefully, with dignity and grace, at home in the late afternoon sun surrounded by her whanau. We’ll miss you so much and will remember you with your hands in the dirt, your head in the sun and your heart in the garden.
