HAY, Betsy Morrison

Peacefully on May 23, 2023 at Burwood Hospital with her beloved family, aged 93. Dearly loved wife and soulmate of Ian (dec); much cherished Mum and mother-in-law of David and Mary, Bruce and Shirley, Reece and Kylie, Grant and Jenny, Donna and Jeremy, Vicki and Stewart, Cleave and Amanda, and Sandra. Treasured Grandma to her 18 grandchildren and GG to her 15 great-grandchildren.
No more suffering, no more pain.

Of Palmerston North. Passed away peacefully at Brightwater Home on Monday 22 May 2023. Aged 93 years. Wife of the late Warren. Mother of Janette, Graham, and David (dec). Grandmother of 5 and Great-grandmother of 10. A special thanks to the caring staff of Willard Home for their love and care of Joan for the last 12 years. On May 24, 2023 peacefully at Christchurch Hospital. June was a blessing to many and will be remembered with gratitude and affection.

We thank the Sisters and staff of Nazareth Care, the wonderful staff of Christchurch Hospital, and our RNDM caregivers. A Requiem Mass for Sr June will be celebrated at Nazareth Care Chapel, 220 Brougham Street, Christchurch, on Tuesday, May 30 at 10.00am, followed by interment at Avonhead Memorial Park Cemetery, Hawthornden Road. Sister June’s Vigil will be held at the Sisters Chapel, 40a Spencer Street, Addington, on Monday, May 29 at 4.00pm. Sr June’s Requiem Mass will be streamed for those unable to attend https

BAKER, Judith Beatrice (nee Hetherington)

Peacefully at Bainswood Hospital, Rangiora, on Saturday, May 20, 2023, aged 92 years. Loved daughter of the late Kenneth Samuel and Muriel Clarice Hetherington. Loved wife of the late Robert Hamilton Wilson, and the late Charles H.M. Baker; and loved sister of Michael and Gillian Hetherington. Dearly loved mother and mother-in-law of Suzanne (deceased) and Ian (Whit) Whitehouse, Robyn, Siaki Pone, the late Michael, Nicki and John (Wal) Ford. Step-mother to Greg Baker and Felicity Lambie. A loving nana of Samuel, Michael and Rachel, Chris and Samantha, Joanna and Sam; and a special great-nana to Violet, Meredith, Eleanor, Hunter, and Liam. A private family cremation has been held. A memorial service to celebrate Judith’s life will be held at St James Anglican Church, 1750 Cust Road, Cust, on Tuesday, May 30, at 11.00am.

Tragically on 16 May 2023, aged 50. Cherished son of Rosemary Hemmings (dec); and Brian (Hank) Hockings (dec) and Beth Pottinger-Hockings. Dearly loved brother and brother-in-law of Lucy and Jason, Kate and Marc, Wills and Eloise, Tubs and Alex. Much admired uncle of George and Hector; Nea, Ethan, James, and Grace; Sidney and Oliver; Penny and Henry. A private family service followed by cremation has been held; a public memorial service will be held with details to be advised.

HALL, David Murray Marshall

21 May 2023
Died peacefully in Silverstream surrounded by his family. Patricia has lost her husband – her life companion who has brought happiness and adventure to their rich life together. He is dearly remembered by his sisters Pam and Lou and their families. David’s children Alison, Sarah, Sam and Elizabeth, their mother, Barbara, and Patricia’s children Sharon, Susan and Catherine and grandchildren Michael, Amanda and L will remember his strength and dry humour. Grandchildren Vanessa, Monique, Alex, Alisha, Emily, Josh, Daniel, Hannah, Luca, Joshua, Abby (deceased), Henry, Libby and Penny will tell stories for years of treasured visits to Wildwood. David was a man with life-long close friends and his loss will be felt deeply. David was a craftsman with whatever he turned his hand at. He loved words and dinner at 6.00pm. He had an energy for life and a determination that was infectious. He was generous with his time and energy and shared his passion for sailing, motorbikes, cars, gardening, architecture and dogs. Our thanks to the exceptional team at Heretaunga Rest Home who have cared for David and his family with compassion. David has been privately cremated. Messages can be sent to PO Box 2557, Wellington. RABJOHNS, Malcolm Charles

Passed away peacefully surrounded by family on 25th May 2023 at Waikato Hospital. Loved husband of Margaret. Loved father and father-in-law of David and Andrea, Karen and Anthony. Special grandad of Tyler, Amelia and Annabel. You are welcome to come and spend time with Malcolm at the family home from Sunday. A service for Malcolm will be held in the Seddon Park Chapel, 49 Seddon Road, Frankton, Hamilton, on Wednesday 31st May 2023, at 1.30pm. Daughter of Clara and Roman, passed away peacefully at home in Waikanae on 24th May 2023, aged 91. We will remember her beauty and love for family, music, and art. Gentle and petite, shy at times but determined and persuasive in difficult situations. Much loved wife of the late Vasile (Bunelu), mum and mother-in-law to Luana and Tony, grandmother to Razvan and Loredana, sister to the late Ionel, sister-in-law to Silvia, Florina, Ana, Dorel, Luiza, Paula, Marian, Mia, and Marcel.

DALBETH, Veronica Noelene (Vonnie)

15.12.1928 — 25.5.2023
94 years. Vonnie passed away peacefully at Hilda Ross Hospital after a short illness. Dearly loved wife of the late Neville. Much loved Mum of James & Robyn, Mary, Peter, Margaret & Jon (Sth Africa). Cherished Grandma of Richard, Mark, Nicholas, Liam and Roxanne (dec). A big thank you to the Caregivers who made it possible for Vonnie to remain living in her own home, almost to the end. A special thanks to dear friend, Msgr. Frank Eggleton. Vonnie was “One of a Kind” and will be sadly missed by all her family, wonderful neighbours and friends.
