On February 2, 2023, peacefully after a short illness at Christchurch Hospital. Dearly loved wife and soulmate of Tony for 54 happy years, loved mother and mother-in-law of Vivienne and Graham, Andrea and Brian, Mike and Lexi, and the late Anne. Thank you to all the staff at Ward 23 Christchurch Hospital for their love, care and support of Ellen and family during her journey over the past month. Flowers respectively declined, however donations in Ellen’s name to Nurse Maude Hospice can be made at her service. Messages to the Murray family C/- PO Box 111-01, Christchurch 8443. Passed away on Friday 3rd February 2023, at Te Aroha Community Hospital, in his 102nd year. Loved husband of the late Nel. Loved father of Nel de Deugd (Rotterdam), Jacob (Robert) (Walton, New Zealand) and Peter ( London, England). Loved pop of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Betty is now reunited with her darling husband Charles ‘Douglas’ Massey (deceased) and precious son Warren (deceased). Daughter of the late Douglas and Elaine Hooper. Sister of Lois, Joan, Graham, Dawn, Edwin and their spouses (all deceased). Much loved and adored sister of Bae (Fossil 2) and sister-in-law Edna. Betty is loved by her nieces, nephews, cousins and her communities of the past. An advocate for the vulnerable, First Women’s Liberation supporter, Plunket, Morrinsville Golf Club, the list goes on.
