Known as Joy (nee Foster). Previously Alice Joy Matson. Women’s Royal New Zealand Naval Service ex-WREN 599. Born November 11, 1926. Passed away peacefully February 1, 2023. Beloved wife of the late Ken and much loved mum and mother-in-law of Anita and Garry, Donna and the late Steve, Logan and Jane, and Euan and Tracy. Adored big sister and sister-in-law of Terry and Marilyn, and the late Ken and Jean, David and Nancy. Loved Nana of Tanya, Carlie, David, Scott, Josie, Jack, and Finn. Great grandmother of seven. A long life well lived. According to Joy’s wishes, a private cremation has taken place.
