The extraordinary chain of events began when Zayne Hinton found the cash floating beside him at Christchurch's Sumner Beach.
The 7-year-old grabbed it and while heading home, his dad, Brad Hinton, suggested they try and sell it online.
They hoped they might be able to double it with a $10 bid, but as the days went by the offers flooded in. Read more here.

Please note that you cannot have had a mental health diagnosis before to take part in this study.
This is a volunteer opportunity, but you will also receive $50 petrol vouchers as a thank you for your time and travel.

The New Zealand grand prix event will be held on Lyttelton Harbour next January as part of SailGP’s second season. The SailGP league involves teams racing identical hydrofoiling catamarans at speeds of up to 50 knots (100kmh).
Olympic and world champions Peter Burling and Blair Tuke will head New Zealand’s first entry in the event. Also competing will be Sir Ben Ainslie, skippering the British boat, and Australian Jimmy Spithill piloting for the United States.
