Handyman needed

I'm needing a handyman to replace 3 planks of wood on a deck that got burnt. Asap.
I had a "friend" lined up to do it before I moved out but have been let down.

First it was 'David Smore', and now 'A Shaw High'.

Green Party leader James Shaw visited Christchurch's Rollickin Gelato on Tuesday and followed in the footsteps of his opposition as he sampled a cone of his dedicated ice cream 'A Shaw High'.

Shaw arrived at the Cashel St parlour on a bicycle along with 20 to 30 of his supporters and Green MPs dressed in green, and also on bikes, waving party flags and trying Shaw's ice cream flavour in unison.

The flavour is a pistachio sorbet with almond milk, hemp crumble and brownies. It's dairy free, gluten free and vegan.

Shaw however, unlike his ice cream, was not vegan, he said.

He spoke with supporters about cycleways and e-bikes and said he was a "cone man for sure" when it came to ice cream.

Last month, ACT Party leader David Seymour also enjoyed his flavour 'David Smore' at Rollickin in Christchurch.

The ice cream shop has established itself as a campaign hot spot, with politicians stopping by to try their own uniquely dedicated scoops and spread their party's message.

Hey neighbours,

In the lead up to the 2020 election, Stuff is keeping voters up to date with what’s happening in their electorate, through Neighbourly. Here’s what you need to know about the candidates in the running to be Te Tai Tonga's MP.

At the October 17 election, New Zealanders will have the opportunity to choose their regional spokesperson.

Through the Mixed Member Proportional (MMP) voting system, those enrolled can vote for the party they want as well as a local representative.

Why does my MP matter?

The person elected will be the voice for your region in Parliament. If you’re having trouble getting entitlements or dealing with Government departments, they can help. If your community needs funding for certain projects or activities, or there isn’t enough healthcare in the area, the elected MP can step in and help.

Hi! I'm so excited to finally be sharing a project our team has been working on for a while now: First Rung, our first podcast!
First Rung is packed with tips, advice and anecdotes from experts and home owners on every aspect of buying your first home - it also comes with a chance to win a $500 Resene prize pack.
Over six, bite sized episodes, we cover everything from saving that deposit, to sunset clauses, to how to get your newly purchased home ready to move into.
We'll also introduce you to ordinary Kiwis, just like you, who have navigated the choppy waters of home buying in NZ and made it onto that first rung - and pick their brains for how they did it.
We all know buying a home is one of the toughest, most daunting things we might ever do as adults, so it doesn't hurt to get some expert advice and support. That's what we wanted to give you with First Rung.
So give it a listen and let us know what you think - and be in to win that mint Resene prize pack. I can't enter and I'm well jealous!

INZ is changing instructions so fast almost daily that even for professionals like us it is challenging to keep up with new policies and amendments to instructions to ensure correct advice to our clients!
Here is recent update from today:

The Government is streamlining the Skills Match Report process so employers can find out more easily if New Zealanders are available for jobs.

The Ministry of Social Development (MSD) has created lists of occupations and regions where there is a clear over or undersupply of New Zealanders on Job Seeker Support.

Undersupply of New Zealand job seekers

For occupations and regions where there is an undersupply of New Zealand job seekers, employers no longer need a Skills Match Report for roles paying below the national median wage, currently $25.50 an hour.

Roles that are undersupplied (rb.gy...)

Oversupply of New Zealand job seekers

For occupations and regions on the oversupply list, there are New Zealand job seekers on Job Seeker Support available. Employers can move straight to engaging with MSD to recruit New Zealand job seekers.

Roles that are oversupplied (rb.gy...)

This measure is temporary.
