The two lovely people who are trying to set up Christchurch's Cat Cafe are current volunteers of Cat Rescue Christchurch as per below. They are just over half way to their kickstarter goal but need more pledges.

If we can buy a beach we as a community should beable to help this couple in their dream to do a project that will have amazing ripple effects long term for the community, tourism and kittens and cats in need.

Who doesn't want to go and have a coffee and have a cuddle with a wobbler like Clover

Bless😻😻😻😻😻😻😻

It would be great if you could go and like and follow both our facebook page and Catnap Cafe facebook page and see what great things are happening with both ventures.

Ie Cat Rescue is having a quiz night fundraiser on the 20th of August so if you would like to participate, find the it on the EVENT category on the Cat Rescue facebook page, or pm me here.

Thanks

Getting two young children ready for school in the morning is never easy. It is made even more difficult for Christchurch mother Loren Harris, who is blind.

Harris was born with cataracts and developed glaucoma following her surgery at 19. Her left eye is a prosthetic and the right eye has low, deteriorating vision. She has very a limited peripheral field and her central vision is blurry.

Until three years ago, Harris was independent and mobile. She worked, could see "relatively well" and did not need a lot of assistance. When she suddenly lost a significant amount of vision, her life changed drastically.

But nothing can stop Harris getting her daughter Saxton, 2, off to pre-school. On sunny mornings, they walk; if it's raining, they catch a bus then walk the rest of the way.

I think the person involved or someone rang our doorbell but I was in the shower. I had called him to come inside he has to be inside at night. We found him placed on the grass outside our neighbours in the morning. He never went on the road so we are devestated. I want to thank whoever placed him for us to find him. Just cant understand how it happened. He was a big boy. Please can people slow down on Gardiners Rd. Its not a racetrack and people are doing 80 to 100km at times. Marble was found dead on my sons 7th birthday. He had been his xmas present. There are animals and children in residential areas. 50km is for a reason. It could easily be a child. Thank you
