The two little lagoons in the road outside our property stay filled with water from leaking water mains, they were notified months ago, still not fixed. When the weight of EV's batteries can be one third of the total weight of the car and making them up to one third heavier than their predecessor, making them an expensive effective battering ram for those who are unfortunate to 'accidently' meet them. The sight of rejected vehicles stacked on top of each other waiting for some arsonist is nothing to the stacks of EV batteries when their life is exhausted, too expensive to recycle. Why not fix the potholes first before causing gaping holes on land and sea dredged mining for the chemicals EV batteries need? jmho

The message will look like it comes from a legitimate New Zealand agency like Waka Kotahi (NZ Transport Agency), NZ Post, Inland Revenue, NZ Police or a Bank. It will often be sent by a number with either a 64 or 61 prefix at the beginning - country codes from New Zealand and Australia.
It will encourage you to click on a link and pay a bill or toll, sometimes to collect a cash prize.
Advice for dealing with scams
• Not all messages will look the same, as scammers change their wording over time.
• Do not engage with or click any links before you know a message is genuine.
• To check if a message is genuine, check directly with the people it came from. Go to the organisation’s website or check your online account directly.
• Scam messages commonly contain bad or irregular spelling and grammar. Use this as your first sign that this could be a scam.
• Never provide any card or personal details if you do click a bad link.
• If you have paid money already, speak to your bank as soon as possible and let them know what’s happened.

My earliest childhood memories are of me eating food in secret. Up until the age of twenty-three, when I came into recovery, I went to great lengths to steal money from my family, friends and neighbours to buy food.
No matter whose kitchen I was in, at any opportunity I had to be alone I would raid the cupboards and fridge. I had huge embarrassment about the way I ate, as I recognised that others didn't eat the same way.

With about 650,000 residents, Canterbury makes up about 13% of New Zealand’s population.
But the region is only home to 987 sworn officers, about 9% of the New Zealand police force. National roles, such as those in the police prosecution team, are not counted in the district numbers.
It comes as some people in Christchurch are demanding an increased police presence following a massive spike in crime in their suburb.
Thefts and burglaries in Hornby are up by more than 80% in the past year, and tired residents are calling on the region’s top officers to step in.
Residents in Hornby are petitioning the police to have their police station manned 24 hours a day following a major spike in theft and burglary.
The petition, which on Monday night was just shy of 1000 signatures, will be presented to Canterbury Metro Superintendent Lane Todd on Tuesday night at a community meeting to discuss rising levels of crime.
