Do you celebrate Halloween at your house? Why or why not?
And If you don't like trick or treating, how do you make it clear your house is a no-go zone?

We're keen to talk to some people who feel strongly about Halloween one way or the other. If you have thoughts to share, please email homed@stuff.co.nz and we'll be in touch.

YES WE NEED YOU
Residents' associations are organisations formed by groups of people from a specific geographic area who come together to address issues and act as a voice for their local community. In one form or another they have existed since the mid nineteenth century. They form the vital links within neighbourhoods the entire length of New Zealand.
The New Brighton Residents Association is an active group aiming to do represents centrally located residents (closer to the Mall), so the issues of roads, rubbish collections, and council facilities like pools parks and infrastructure improvements and any council service likely to affect them, can be channeled to the Coast-Burwood Community Board or directly to the council.
With the new fresh faced Coastal-Burwood Community Board due to meet for it inaugural meeting on the 7th November, the Residents Association will also be looking to replenish it’s committee stocks to enable us to rebuild our relationship with the people of the area and the Community Board and Council for the rest of year and beyond.
Areas we will need to work on will be newsletters and small projects around enhancing the experience of people living in central New Brighton and getting the local feedback we need to pass on. Issues will include the Mall development, Oram Av, housing and whatever is brought to the table.
Therefore we want more locals to join our committee for our monthly meetings. We meet at the museum, usually on a Monday at 7.30pm.
2020 will a watershed year for New Brighton and we need a vocal and impassioned group of people to speak for the people and be active in voicing their views, and work with the groups who share the same vision and direction. If you were considering volunteering some hours of your skills to this end, contact Brian Donovan 02040400007.
