Qigong
Qigong is an ancient Chinese holistic therapy. It is the foundation to Tai Chi, but relatively simpler than Tai Chi.
Qigong includes dynamic and static forms.
Zhineng Qigong
Zhineng Qigong emphasises moving meditation rather than static meditation.
It uses the consciousness, body, breath, sound vibration and universal Qi(energy) to bring about positive transformation of the body, mind and spirit.
“After practicing Zhineng Qigong, my cancer disappeared. In the practice, I feel protected, joyful, safe and more energy. Healing comes naturally when we get out of the way and go beyond our attachments. Our new life is starting Now!”
~ Luise Kohl-Hajek, Germany
“The gentle movements stretch every muscle in my body although they look very simple. My muscles feel stronger, and I am mentally stronger too. While practicing, I feel the sense of “unity with the universe.””
~ Susan Sky, NZ
“Through regular qigong practice, my back pain is healed and my spine is more flexible. I had also been suffering severe shoulder pain for months. Just like a miracle, after one qigong class the pain had gone. The pain did come back a couple of days later, but much milder. After regular practice, I am pain free. This was a wow fact for me. I LOVE the feeling of connectin to the Universal Qi, and would like to share qigong with others.”
~ Graham Good, NZ

What's your opinion on dog-friendly businesses?
The number of dog friendly businesses in the Canterbury region are on the rise with over 30 cafes allowing dog owners to dine with their canines.
The decision is the business owner’s rather than council's, and the only requirement is dogs must be at least three metres away from the kitchen.
You can find the full list of dog-friendly businesses by clicking 'Read more'.

I'm certain I've seen something like this here in Aotearoa-NZ, but can't for the life of me recall where. It was in the back of the medicine cupboard. Let us know if you've seen, had - or have - one in your home.

Christchurch performer Nathan Bonner, also known as Mulletman, has launched a new buskers festival that will run at the same time as its larger Bread & Circus rival.
Bonner’s festival, which is called Salty Buskers Club, will feature six buskers performing in Akaroa on Thursday, Birdlings Flat on Friday, and New Brighton on Saturday and Sunday. The Akaroa event will also include an evening show starring all the performers.
Bonner said he established the new event because he missed the New Brighton busking pitch and the busker evening shows that had been dropped since the Bread & Circus – World Buskers Festival was revamped in 2018.
What do you think of Bonner's idea? And will you check his festival out?

Epidemiologist Dr Michael Baker said the next six months would be a “very dangerous” time for the country with a high risk of an outbreak while waiting for the vaccine roll-out in April.
Do you think scanning should be mandatory at pubs, nightclubs, etc?
