As much as it saddens us to have to close, it is in the best interest of our most valuable assets…our volunteers and our community. For those that know our little shop, our volunteers are mostly older adults over 70 or those who have compromised immune systems due to underlying medical conditions so we are not prepared to risk their health. After speaking with all the volunteers, be rest assured they are all keen to be back on board at the Op Shop once this health crisis is over. In the meantime, if anyone in our community is in serious need of clothing or household goods please ring Linda on (03) 349-9793 for assistance. Please take care of yourselves and your family. Ministry of Health director-general of health Ashley Bloomfield confirmed on Friday the country had 11 new cases of Covid-19, bringing the total to 39.
The Canterbury man arrived in Christchurch from Los Angeles on March 15 on flight American Airlines AA83 and flight Air New Zealand NZ535.
A woman in her 40s, who arrived in Christchurch on March 16 from London, was the city's first positive case.

We are a small group of people around NZ that have been diagnosed with various eye conditions that have caused / are causing varying degrees of vision loss.
In these trying times we are aware that a number of people with low vision are on their own and without great social support, will be looking at taking greater social distancing measures, if not self isolation.
We would like to support those people through either Facebook (see below) or digitally via regular emails, texts or phone calls.
