Close to 42,000 customers booked to travel domestically and internationally on that date now face potential flight cancellations, the airline has said. You might notice a new addition to Victoria Square in the new year! A new $319,000 taxpayer-funded sculpture paying tribute to the Treaty of Waitangi signatories is likely to be installed in the Christchurch park.
The two 4.75 metre-tall upright waka, titled Mana Motuhake, is by carver Fayne Robinson, and commemorates the significant Treaty signatories and by extension would support the achievements and memory of Queen Victoria. To read more, click here.

It all started when Auckland woman Hannah Rodgers and her son, Jayden, committed to 100 days of kindness in the lead-up to Christmas last year.
"On day 65, Jayden suggested we write a card for someone who might feel lonely at Christmas," Rodgers says.
Now Rodgers and her son want the campaign, Sending Love, to help 100,000 Kiwis of all ages as it returns for its second year.
