Over 40's Health & Fitness Specilaist
Hi neighbours, I’m James — a local Personal Trainer living in St Heliers. I run a small, friendly PT studio in Auckland CBD (Just off Albert Street) where I help people (mainly over 40s) get back on top of their health without crazy diets or all-or-nothing plans.
As well as working out of the City, I offer sessions in St Heliers and surrounding neighbourhoods.
Services I offer include
Personal Training
Small Group Sessions
A weight loss program based on habits and behaviours and not diets
I specialise in working with people who are juggling work, family, and everything in between — especially those who’ve tried other things but nothing has really stuck.
Whether you want to lose a bit of weight, boost your energy, or just feel more in control of your health again, I’d love to help.
Feel free to message me here or check out my studio: imaginefitness.co.nz
Happy to offer a free chat or a trial session to see if it’s a good fit.
Keep moving,
James

Poll: Should the government levy industries that contribute to financial hardship?
As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙
One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.
So we want to hear what you think:
Should the government ask these industries to contribute?
-
59.4% Yes, supporting people is important!
-
26.3% No, individuals should take responsibility
-
14.3% ... It is complicated
Poll: Should complete designs be shared with the public, or should the community help shape the designs from the start?
The Post recently shared an opinion piece on the Harbour Crossing and why a more democratic approach might be needed 🚗🚲👟
While most decisions sit within the political arena, many organisations—like NZTA—manage long-term projects that go beyond party lines. Politics can sometimes disrupt progress, and the next Harbour Crossing is a big decision that will affect all Aucklanders.
We’d love your thoughts: Should near-complete, shovel-ready designs be shared with the public, or should the community have a hand in shaping the designs from the start?
-
80.3% Community feedback and transparency is needed.
-
19.7% No. This would be impossible in practice.
Carpet inspection needed
Hi
I've just had new carpet laid throughout my house. I'm not happy with the result, as pieces don't match where they should, and in a hallway there are 5 joins where should not have been more than two. The supplier says there's nothing wrong. I would like a professional carpet person to look at it for an independent assessment. Does anyone know of someone who could do this?
Nga mihi
