Mat time is part of our daily routine at Uplands Kindergarten. We sing songs, have fingerplays and read a big book. William's Wet Week is a favourite book at Uplands Kindergarten. Children reenact our mat times during session. "A benefit of reading books is that it exposes tamariki to words and phrasing that they may not normally head or use in everyday talk" Pg. 26. Poll: Should the government levy industries that contribute to financial hardship?
As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙
One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.

Cycad needs new Home!
We are about to get the outside of our house painted - and have decided this Cycad needs to go. I've started the recommended process for transplanting - trimming a portion of the fronds - but note that the best results require the move to new location to be as fast as possible. Before I start the root bulb work, is anyone local interested? I see they are listed at hundreds of $$ - but happy to discuss. It needs to go.
