The $6 billion project to revive a tram network in Auckland was one of Labour's initial election promises in 2017.
After Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern's big victory on October 17, the light rail system connecting the airport to Auckland's central city may finally get off the ground.
But Transport Minister Phil Twyford alluded key decisions are still to be made.
Twyford said in June the governing parties could not agree on a preferred proposal and the future of the project would be decided by the new Government following the election.

The SPCA is appealing for keen cooks to take part in its annual Cupcake Day fundraiser on November 2.
The event has raised nearly $3.2 million over the years, helping tens of thousands of animals that come through SPCA's doors each year in need of care, shelter and veterinary treatment.
Budding chefs are invited to whip up a batch of cupcakes before selling them at work, school and to family and friends.
Last year saw 1092 home bakers and 641 businesses get involved.
SPCA CEO Andrea Midgen said recent events had taken a big bite out of the charity but here was something tangible supporters could do to help.
Funds raised will be used to aid in rescuing, rehabilitating and re-homing animals in need around the country.

I have a property that has had uPVC windows retro-fitted, however the double glazing and fitting company have done the most atrocious job.
After chasing them around they finally came to visit, and on the first visit, admitted rather reluctantly that this needed some remediation.
A second visit had them advising that they would fix it, but three weeks later they have still not advised how, when etc. I'm now wondering if indeed they ever will.
What I need is someone who can assess and advise what work needs to be done as it needs to be fixed and I cannot find anyone able to provide the right advise or direction on how to get this done.
Any advise would be fantastic!
Thanks, Susan

I just couldnt run around all over Auckland picking up books so dropping off at Crave solves the problem. Thank you so much if you are able to drop off some books and thank you to those that have already donated. :)
