When we give children time to play in natural environments, we promote and value their freedom, independence and choice. Gill (2007) comments that children are disappearing from the outdoors at a rate that would be at the top of any list of endangered species. In research from Aoteoroa New Zealand, Kelly, White, Dekker, Donald, Hart, McKay, McMillan, Mitchell-King and Wright (2013) suggest that engagement with the outdoors is a basic component of our heritage, identity and culture.
We are taking a cautious approach to opening our facilities this morning and will open them when and where we safely can. This may mean delayed openings for some and closures for others.

But we are a bit short of funding an so have started a Give A Little campaign.
