Maybe wanting a pragmatic way of learning to calm down and not be so reactive at home or at work. They might be tormented by anxious thoughts which they know are not rational, and have heard that mindfulness can help.

Maybe a particular physical challenge that they are grappling with – an illness or pain or sleep problems or want to reduce their blood pressure. Or just simply want to get to know themselves a bit more, and have heard that mindfulness can offer a useful map for this exploration.
If you are wanting to just have a taste of mindfulness to see if it can help, come and try some initial training and see if it makes sense to you.

I run a friendly little group. I teach gentle movement suitable for any body, & peaceful stillness.
The first session is free then it is by donation.
29 Saint Johns Road,
Meadowbank Community Centre Monday 21 Oct, 1.30 - 2.45pm
Ongoing 3rd Monday of the month.

Feel free to contact me: Eve Rudkin, registered teacher of Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction. 021 255 1485

Reducing stigma starts with the words we use, and shifting the way we talk about dementia is a powerful step forward. This World Alzheimer’s Month, Ryman is highlighting the importance of reducing the discrimination caused by stigma surrounding people living with dementia.

Caroline Bartle, Ryman’s Dementia Care and Innovations Lead, says that using appropriate language when referring to people with Alzheimer’s and other types of dementia can foster a more inclusive society. Evie is a 13 year old grey tortie - quite pretty colouring (mainly grey with caramel) with some cream on her chest. No white on her at all. She has been missing since 16 November, 2023.

Please take a screenshot of this post so you have photos and my number handy in case you see her.

She likes people but might not let you pick her up so please take a video or photo if you see her and call me asap on 021 072 0933 (Anna).

She’s quite lean and small to medium size. When she’s happy she ‘talks’ ❤️ De-sexed and microchipped.

Last seen in Mont Le Grand Rd, Mt Eden. Please check your garage, shed, garden and under deck and house.

Apparently cats who are hiding don’t meow so please look carefully even if you don’t hear her. Thank you so much 🙏
