Feeling overwhelmed?

Eve from Eve Rudkin Mindfulness

Hi Neighbours - If you feel like you can easily get swamped or snowed under, that is something Mindfulness can help with.

My clients report that practicing mindfulness helps them feel they can cope better with stressful situations, feeling less overwhelmed.

Mindfulness trains us to paying attention to the present moment, which creates space to observe your thoughts and feelings without getting swept away by them.

I run sessions on the third Monday of each month at Meadowbank Community Centre, 1.30, 75 mins
The session includes gentle movement and relaxing simple meditation.
Contact me - the first session free, then Koha welcome. 021 255 1485
Click Read More to find out more about what I do - I also offer one-on-one sessions, courses for group bookings, and a group for experienced meditators

Poll: Should we be giving the green light to new mining projects? 💰🌲

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

The Environmental Protection Authority announced this week that a proposed mine in Central Otago (near Cromwell) is about to enter its fast-track assessment process. A final decision could come within six months, and if it’s approved, construction might start as early as mid-2026.

We want to know: Should mining projects like this move ahead?

Keen to dig deeper? Mike White has the scoop.

Auckland, why are we so excited about a new store? 🚗🛒

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

I think we’ve all seen the traffic notices and headlines about the new IKEA by now!

So here’s the question: why do we get so excited when a new store opens? Convenience? Curiosity? A reason for a weekend outing? We’d love to hear your thoughts!

Keen for an update? The Post has you covered

Can anyone please help with transporting supplies to the Tokoroa dog shelter?

Anne from St Heliers

Hello Neighbours
I’ve collating donations for the SWDC dog shelter (near-expiry food; towels, blankets, plastic beds, toys, etc). There’s enough already to fill a 4-wheel drive or big ute but, at least, a BIG boot full. It would be great to get this to the shelter (esp. the short-dated food) ASAP

If you have spare / unused stretcher beds, plastic dog baskets, bedding, food, metal food bowls, leads, collars, toys, etc which you'd like to donate, please contact me, many thanks
