I have been holding off posting this as I honestly (or should that be stupidly) thought that the majority of people knew that the usage of mobile phones whilst driving in any road vehicle was ILLEGAL (see link below).
This means:
NO PHONE CALLS - IN OR OUT
NO TEXTING - SENDING OR READING RECEIVED TEXTS
NO TAKING PHOTOS WITH YOUR PHONE WHILST DRIVING
The only exception to that rule is if it's hands free.
We've all seen them, texting while driving or waiting at the light, holding the phone with their right hand with phone on their left ear, taking photos/videos while driving - THIS HAS TO STOP!!!
How many accidents or deaths will it take for idiots to get this through their thick arrogant, selfish heads?
If they want to put their life in danger, their choice; however, I will not tolerate anyone of these selfish little toe rags putting my life or anyone that I love in danger!!
The law has to be stricter about this now.
We as the public, need to take the bull by the horns now and report anyone we see using their phones. We know that the police can't be everywhere and that there is a shortage, so let's help them and save each other's lives in the process.
*555 is the number to call from your mobile to report any incidents on the road.
If you are driving, try and pull over in a safe area and make that phone call.
If you have a passenger in the car with you, get them to make that call.
Try to get as many details as you can to pass onto to the police i.e. type of car, colour, registration, last location seen etc ...
You won't be 'narking', you are in fact saving a life.
So as the quote goes from Hill Street Blues, "Let's be careful out there"

About 600 electric scooters (e-scooters) have been launched in Auckland by California-based company Lime. The scooters can travel at speeds of up to 27kmh and have a maximum range of 48km. But not everyone is impressed, with some calling labeling the scooters as a "menace on footpaths". To read more about them, click here.

What are your thoughts on them? Will you give them a go? Will it be cheaper for you to scooter to work rather than drive and pay for parking? Or do you think they're a hazard for pedestrians? Share you thoughts with us in the replies below!

Crashes in Auckland are causing traffic delays for motorists ahead of Labour Weekend.

Auckland Transport advised motorists to allow extra time for their journeys this morning. A crash at 7.40am along the northwestern motorway was blocking the middle lane eastbound after Newton Rd, the New Zealand Transport Agency said. Footage from traffic cameras showed the speed on the motorway had been reduced to 50kmh.

Tamaki Makaurau Road Policing Manager Inspector Scott Webb says traffic congestion is going to reach peak levels on Friday and Saturday as motorists leave Auckland for the long weekend.

Inspector Webb says three people were killed and eight people were seriously injured on our roads across Tamaki Makaurau during Labour Day Weekend in 2017.

These one-way valves can weaken, causing blood to pool, which leads to bulbous, protruding veins. The discomfort of varicose veins is often described as fatigue, heaviness, itching or even cramps.

Historically, treatment of varicose centred on surgical removal of varicose veins under general anaesthetic. However, endovenous catheter ablation has become so successful that surgery is seldom needed. Endovenous means "working inside the vein" and ablation means "to close off". Under local anaesthetic, a laser fibre is threaded into the varicose vein and used to close off the problem veins, prompting the blood to redirect itself. Compression stockings are worn for two weeks post-treatment and regular walking is recommended.

There is no need for time off work. If you have varicose veins that are affecting you call Vein & Laser for a consultation with our doctor, vein physician Elisabeth De Felice.
