The RTA is the main piece of legislation that regulates interactions between landlords and tenants. I invite you to come along to discuss:
• The government’s intention to make life better for people renting a home.
• How to ensure people renting are being treated fairly, are able to stay in their communities without being moved on unfairly, and have fair rent reviews.
• The updating of our antiquated tenancy laws, which don’t reflect the fact that renting is now a long-term reality for many of our families.
• How a lack of tenure is particularly tough on children whose education suffers when they have to keep changing schools.
• Our commitment to striking a balance between providing tenants with security of tenure and allowing them to make their house a home while protecting the rights and interests of landlords.
We will also have submission forms to help you make a written submission on the proposed changes. To read more, or make an online submission go to: www.hud.govt.nz...

The supermarket's move is expected to remove 11.6 million straws from circulation and the waste stream each year. WOW.
Do you think other NZ supermarkets should follow suit?
