Join us for our Open Evenings.
Middle School West Auckland invites you to our Open Evenings to experience the excellent education available for boys and girls in Years 7-10. With no zone, free uniform and stationery and no donations, Middle School West Auckland removes barriers to learning and offers success for all students (of all abilities). Split across two campuses in Henderson, West Auckland, the school has a strong academic focus and keeps class sizes small (no larger than 15 students per class). In addition, students are grouped into villas of 60 students each overseen by an experienced Academic Manager who monitors the child's progress and assists in personalizing the curriculum to their personal needs. Community Liaison Managers work with students, families and communities to ensure learning is fully supported. For those wishing to incorporate Te Ao Maori into their child's education, our Te Reo bilingual immersion unit, Pohutukawa Villa, is an ideal choice. Open evenings are being held at both campuses. Come along and meet our expert educators and see how we can help your child excel. Join us at our largest campus, Jack Ralston House, at 287-289 Lincoln Road, on Tuesday August 1st between 5-7pm and Pohutukawa Villa, 22-24 Waipareira Avenue, on Tuesday, July 25th, between 5-7pm. For further details or to register interest, please contact Suzanne on 09 972 1744 or email: admin@westauckland.school.nz
Poll: Should we ditch daylight saving? 🕰️
First introduced in New Zealand in 1927 with the passing of the Summer Time Act, it's what we know as 'Daylight Saving' and this year it ends on the first Sunday in April.
While we do get to sleep in this time around, some people would like to scrap the clock tinkering for good.
And why? Some evidence suggests the time changes are bad for our health as they mess with sleep patterns leading to short-term fatigue and affecting mood. Meanwhile the hour change is frustrating for farmers and a nightmare for getting the littlies to sleep. But what's your take?
-
40.8% Yes - get rid of the clock changes
-
57.4% No, I enjoy it
-
1.8% Other - I'll share below
Don't overthink this riddle...
I have a silver sole
but no feet,
I make my living by bringing the heat.
What am I?
