At Middle School West Auckland we do break down barriers for families by being genuinely free - we provide uniform, provide stationery and don't ask for donations.

We are unapologetically academic and believe in the growth and development of our students towards tertiary study and the breaking of embedded cycles for many of our families.

We are innovative in terms of our day structure and our Integrated Project Based Curriculum alongside the core subjects.

We know that small classes enhances interaction between students and teachers and enables more differentiated approaches. Hence a class maximum of 15.

That is not the key though.
.................

The key is that we have been able to attract an outstanding teaching and support staff. While article after article bemoans shortages, lack of quality and teachers leaving Auckland .... we have attracted superb people and involved people moving from far and wide to work with us. They are passionate, qualified and determined to make a huge difference.

Young teachers like Monika Toko (pictured below) - working in our bi-lingual unit (Te Kura Waengarahi ki te Uru - Pohutukawa) are making an incredible difference to young people.

Visit us at either of our campuses: Jack Ralston House, 287-289 Lincoln Road, Henderson (access off Paramount Drive), or Pohutukawa Villa, 22-24 Waipareira Avenue, Henderson, to see how we can help your child excel.

Places for 2018 are limited. Please apply without delay.

Wonderful feedback from Grandparents of one of our Year 7 students at Mt Hobson Middle School.  Come to our Open Day on June 14th, between 10am-12.30pm to see our personalized academic morning in action at 131 Remuera Road, Remuera, 1050.

We are ****** grandparents.  We have seen a wonderful calmness and positive energy developing within him, it may of course be due to his age progress, however I do think he has found his "Fit" with this school and their personalised coaching programme . We all know every child is different and the "one size fits all" approach to education does not work for every child. Regrettably only the most diligent of parents are going to find this right fit for their children. Congratulations **** and ******* you would appear to have finally found the right fit for *****. For those looking for something more positive the "Open Day" will be a small insight to what you might need.

Mt Hobson Middle School is run by Villa Education Trust, who also operate Middle School West Auckland and South Auckland Middle School.  Mt Hobson Middle School is a small, boutique style school for just 48 students in Remuera.  It keeps class sizes to just 12 and personalizes its curriculum to meet the needs of its students.  A Learning Coach works with each student to ensure success.  Students follow a project based integrated curriculum with a strong academic focus in the mornings and an activity based afternoon programme consisting of sports, arts and music.  Join us at our Open Day on Wednesday, June 14th, between 10am-12.30pm to meet our expert educators, chat to our students and see for yourself how we can truly help your child to excel.
