Urgent Community Meeting
Hello All
Te Kowhai Community Group has called a urgent public meeting in the Te Kowhai Hall on Monday 8 July 2019 at 7pm.
This meeting is in regards to the Airport submission to Council to expand the sound barrier and the flight path of the airport.
Some of your homes will be affected by this should future building consents be required.
We want to ensure you all have the correct information regarding this proposal that will affect our community.
A responding submission needs to be lodged with council by Friday 12th July. We can do this on your behalf after the meeting.
If you have any questions, please come and ask on the night.

As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙
One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.

Derelict Tokanui Hospital site in line for a clean-up
Derelict Tokanui Hospital buildings will be demolished and contaminated land cleaned up so the site can be offered back to iwi.
The former psychiatric hospital, southeast of Te Awamutu, sits on land taken from Ngāti Maniapoto under the Public Works Act in 1910.
