Is there a limit to the *&#$% of the Cone People?

They put rows of cones into Kamo Road (!) and a couple of lollipop guys with crash helmets holding up the traffic down Kamo Road. There is NO justification, and NO visible purpose to this, other than annoying through traffic.
I almost feel like asking for Wayne Brown to come up from Auckland and banish those in charge to lower Turkmenistan. The intellectual vacuity behind these 'safety measures' is unbelievable. I repeat: there was no work going on on Kamo Road, no workers were near Kamo road, except the two guys with stop-go lollipops.

Seriously, folks.

Abolition of Driving Test Fees

If say, a teen really wishes to learn to drive properly and safely and subsequently pass the Test, then why shouldn't they pay for it themselves? I had to get an extra job as a teen, to pay for my driving lessons and test and why not? it was, after all for my benefit. Of course, it goes without saying, the 'lost revenue' will be passed onto us tax payers. Yet more spoon feeding?

Don't go old-school this winter and just throw on another jersey to beat the cold. You deserve to be truly comfortable in a warm, dry home without stressing about power bills.

Warmer Kiwi Homes is a government grant that offers 80% of the cost of ceiling and underfloor insulation, and up to 80% off an energy-efficient heater, like a heat pump.

And you may get it even cheaper than that - lots of community organisations offer extra funding to reduce the cost further.

Check your eligibility, or check for your whānau, at www.warmerkiwihomes.govt.nz

April 12

Introducing our Whangarei/Kaipara Local Distribution Committee, elected from local community organisations to make decisions on COGS grants. Ngā mihi nui ki a koutou, thank you all for your work.
The 2023 COGS priorities for Whangarei/Kaipara are:
▪️ Older people and those with disabilities are connected, involved in the community and have access to the services they need.
▪️ The wellbeing and aspirations of Māori are supported and valued.
▪️ Families, children, and young people can access services increasing their physical and mental wellbeing and ability to build better futures.
▪️ All communities are enabled to celebrate their diversity, which encourages community wellbeing, resilience, and inclusiveness.
▪️ Community needs are met by organisations with a clear local footprint who are building community resilience.
▪️ Volunteers and community organisation staff are valued, resourced and well trained.
COGS (Community Organisation Grants Scheme) is open for applications, and closes on the 3rd of May 2023🙌
COGS grants support voluntary and not-for-profit organisations working in local communities and neighbourhoods.
