The Whangarei Steam and Model Railway Club is looking for folks who can make models of New Zealand Houses / shops / buildings circa 1920 (ish). Scale is 1:87 which equates to 1 inch = 7 feet. We are replicating the Te Kamo, Hikurangi townships. If you are interested, pop up to the station on Mondays or Fridays and our team will welcome you and show you what we currently have. Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
