Life Coaching Happiness: Ten hints to put a smile on your face
• Buy an alarm clock and leave your phone elsewhere when you’re in bed. Less temptation for late-night scrolling!
• Caring for yourself - make homemade soup to eat at work.
• Take a two-minute cold shower each morning to dispel the blues.
• Set your alarm 30 minutes early to give yourself time for a quiet cuppa.
• Do a 10-minute tidy-up with your partner each day rather than letting the household chores pile up.
• If life’s too stimulating ‘reset your brain’ by putting your head under the bedcovers for 15 minutes to shut out the world.
• Brush your teeth standing on one foot and alternate the foot each night. Great to develop better balance!
• Unsubscribe from retailers' email lists you follow but don’t usually read.
• Start each day by acknowledging three things (big or small) you’re thankful for.
• Have one day a week set aside as ‘social media free’.

New Year, Same Brain Teasers!
A man was found dead with a cassette recorder in one hand and a gun in the other.
When the police pressed “play,” the tape said, “I can’t go on,” and then there was a gunshot.
Yet, the police knew it was a murder.
How?

⚠️ DOGS DIE IN HOT CARS. If you love them, don't leave them. ⚠️
It's a message we share time and time again, and this year, we're calling on you to help us spread that message further.
Did you know that calls to SPCA about dogs left inside hot cars made up a whopping 11% of all welfare calls last summer? This is a completely preventable issue, and one which is causing hundreds of dogs (often loved pets) to suffer.
Here are some quick facts to share with the dog owners in your life:
👉 The temperature inside a car can heat to over 50°C in less than 15 minutes.
👉 Parking in the shade and cracking windows does little to help on a warm day. Dogs rely on panting to keep cool, which they can't do in a hot car.
👉 This puts dogs at a high risk of heatstroke - a serious condition for dogs, with a mortality rate between 39%-50%.
👉 It is an offence under the Animal Welfare Act to leave a dog in a hot vehicle if they are showing signs of heat stress. You can be fined, and prosecuted.
SPCA has created downloadable resources to help you spread the message even further. Posters, a flyer, and a social media tile can be downloaded from our website here: www.spca.nz...
We encourage you to use these - and ask your local businesses to display the posters if they can. Flyers can be kept in your car and handed out as needed.
This is a community problem, and one we cannot solve alone. Help us to prevent more tragedies this summer by sharing this post.
On behalf of the animals - thank you ❤️
Tree pruning
Can anyone recommend someone who can top/prune 2 x tall trees and take away the foliage ( 1 x camelia and 1 x Pittosporum)
They need at least 1.2 metres topped off the height and approx 30% of the density removed.
Another possibility is to totally remove so I can replant.
