Hi Everyone,
Living with Tourettes NZ. is on Prime, Sunday at 8.30pm for another 5 weeks.
It gives a great insight into the lives of people in New Zealand living with Tourettes Syndrome.
Tourettes is a debilitating syndrome that is not recognized as a disability here and very much misunderstood.
My daughter Jessica is one of the 6 people that were followed and is hoping this will bring a better understanding to the wider community of the daily challengers faced by people with Tourettes Syndrome.

Could Tongariro St become like Cuba St in Wellington?

Robert Steven Reporter from Taupō Times

Making Tongariro St a pedestrian-only street is one idea in the council's District Economic Strengthening plan.

Instead of Tongariro St, Titiraupenga St would become the main arterial road for travel through Taupō. Walking through Tongariro Domain's gardens would become much easier for visitors.

>> What does everyone think about the concept?
>> Does the idea of a pedestrian-only street, with cafes looking across to the Tongariro Domain, sound good?

Please write NFP [not for print] beside your comment if you'd prefer it wasn't used in a print news story.... cheers!

Hi, my beautiful Bengal Bubbles is still missing from Ohope. He’s a 2 yr old desexed male and is microchipped. I believe he may have been taken out of the area as he wasn’t well liked by some bird lovers in our area. Missing since Feb 5th. Please keep your eyes out for him, and your ears open to any neighbourhood gossip about him. He could be anywhere. We miss him so much and desperately want him home. Thanks 😻

Stage two of the Ngā Tapuwae o Toi Walkway upgrade - from Kapu Te Rangi junction to the Kōhī Point Lookout - may lead to minor delays for walkers during the coming weeks.

The project is part of an ongoing track improvement programme being undertaken by the Whakatāne District Council and will include a number of improvements, including the removal of some existing steps and the installation of new box steps, erosion controls and improved track benching.

Site work is expected to begin on the track on Monday, 30 July and will take approximately six weeks to complete. The walkway will remain open to the public throughout the upgrade period, but walkers may face short delays at any of the multiple work zones, and when helicopter operations are underway.
