HI Everyone!

We are a group of four teenagers from Tawa College currently participating in the Young Enterprise Scheme. In order to participate, we need to create a functioning business. We had the idea to create a website that would allow teenagers to find employment a lot easier than it is right now. We plan to introduce two aspects into the business, one being more business type job listings from real business looking for teenagers to employ and the other involving the community to list their own job listings they want done. Right now, we plan to launch the second aspect first so we need the communities help. We need any job listings from the community that we can post on our website. We expect you compensate the student that gets in contact with you unless other arrangements have been made with the student. We plan to turn over job submissions into job listings available to view on our website within 24 hours of completion of the google form. Some common examples of job listings we expect will be popular are:
-Dog Walking
-Lawn Mowing
-House Cleaning
-Garden Cleaning
-Babysitting
-General help

Steps to submit a job listing with us:
1) Goto opportunityjobs.biz
2) Click on the workplace tab at the very top
3) Near the bottom left, there should be a button that you can click which will take you to the page with the link you can submit a job listing.
4) Follow the google link page to fill our the google form sheet which is submission of the job listing you want us to put up.

Our facebook page link is www.facebook.com...

Website link - www.opportunityjobs.biz...

Feel free to contact me at 6dhuang@tawacollege.school.nz if you have any questions or you can use the contact page on our website.

Yesterday a bunch of us popped across the road to the Petone foreshore, where we supported Friends of Petone Beach for a planting day🌱

Our crew got stuck in straight away, planting a total of 810 plants along the western end of Petone Beach.

These plants help to protect the dunes from storm surge damage and rising sea levels, reduce the amount of sand blown onto properties along the beachfront, and restore the native biodiversity.

After planting, they are protected with netting so the pesky rabbits don’t get a hold of them – giving them a chance to grow.

Can we wait six years for new trains?

The regional council has announced it will seek $415 million in funding for new trains to help increase capacity on the Hutt and Kāpiti lines - the busiest in the region.
Trains running longer distance services between Wellington and Masterton and Wellington and Palmerston North need refurbishments or replacements and patronage growth on these services has already exceeded the available capacity for both fleets, the council said.
Fifteen four-car Dual Mode Multiple Units would replace the current fleet and run on electricity from overhead power wires, switching to alternative energy sources north of Waikanae and Upper Hutt.
The earliest date for the first of the new trains being put into service is 2025.
What do you think? Just how crowded are the trains currently?
We'd love to hear from you and please remember to mark your post NFP if you don't want us to use it in print.
