My partner and I would like to go to the South Island and it would be great if we didn't have to buy a new one (and we wouldn't consider buying a super cheap one because they tend to not last long and it quickly becomes unnecessary rubbish).

On three days now I have entered the code word and had a response that claimed incorrectly that my entry was unsuccessful as I had already entered.
I suspect it is probably a fault in the computer programme.
Has anyone else had this experience?

Temporary closures and diversions
These will come into effect between the hours of 7pm to 5am each day commencing Saturday 18 January to Sunday 19 January 2020.
Why is it closing? Essential works on the Lambton Quay North/Whitmore Street intersection area are necessary to prevent further damage. As a result the lane heading towards Wellington Rail/suburbs will need to be closed from Stout Street to the Whitmore Street intersection allowing contractors to carry out this work. The road will be closed to all traffic, including buses, which will be diverting via Stout Street.
