Looking for something to do with the kids for the holidays?

It’s that time of year when budding young readers can register for Marlborough District Libraries’ Summer Reading Programme.

Children need to visit the library four times between Monday 9 December 2019 and Friday 17 January 2020.

They receive a prize after each visit and those who complete the programme are awarded a book prize and certificate.

Registrations open at 9.00 am on Monday 9 December. The programme is free and designed for children aged five to 12 years old.

A parent or caregiver must visit the library to register.

Twice each year, our gardeners plant thousands of annuals in Seymour Square. With spring here, it’s time for them to be removed and the garden beds prepared for summer planting.

Twice each year, our gardeners plant thousands of annuals in Seymour Square. With spring here, it’s time for them to be removed and the garden beds prepared for summer planting.

Next week, the beds will be dug over and the poppies, polyanthus, snapdragons, violas and pansies removed. A few tulip bulbs will also be lifted to give away.

Come along on Monday 2 December from 8.00 am to 10.00 am. In the event of rain, the event will be postponed to Tuesday 3 December. Our gardeners will be on site to help. Please bring your own fork and containers.
