Tree maintenance - Waikanae Park
š¢ Kia ora KÄpiti. Next week we'll begin maintenance on a number of trees at Waikanae Park to improve safety for our visitors. The mature poplar trees, which line the accessway from Park Avenue to the former green waste site, have dangerous limbs needing to be trimmed. Our contractor will be using a crane for access, as well as a digger and chipper to process wood onsite.
Following this mahi, we'll be felling a number of trees bordering the old green waste site to improve site safety for a new tenant. We expect this work to take approximately three weeks to complete.
To keep our community safe, there'll be no public access to this site while work is underway, and we're working directly with the Waikanae Pony Club to ensure their events can happen around our works.
Please take extra care and follow the instructions of crews and signage.
