I have mixed feelings in regard to this amenity designed in particular for 10-20 year olds to enjoy.
Some of these amenities get dismantled overseas and I believe one was shut down in Auckland.
Outdoor public half court basketball courts can promote high noise levels, unruly behaviour and a place for influencing anti social actions.
The Upper Hutt City Council had received submissions etc opposing the court and/or where it is located.

The grant is now open for a second round and we’re looking for sustainability projects that can benefit Upper Hutt and need help with funding
