Today is day two of Level 2, which brings welcomed relief to some businesses and relaxes some of the strict social requirements that we have been accustomed to!
An update on what we will be doing in Level 2 includes:
~ We still will expect our customers and staff to maintain a 2 mtr physical distance as best as possible. Our team will happily move to the side if you are needing to get to a shelf, please kindly ask for them to move as they may not see you waiting. 😊
~ We still ask that you queue at a safe distance from the customer in front of you at the Checkout. Your Operator will sanitise the trolley handle and eftpos keypad after each customer. 🧼
~ Please allow your Operator to pack your goods into the trolley. Once your transaction is complete, we invite you to pack your bags at the packing bench (or car). This will allow for a smooth transition between customers. 🛒
~ We will still be controlling entry. Please be patient whilst queuing - we will get you in the store as quickly as possible. Emergency Workers will still have priority access to the store upon sight of appropriate ID. We appreciate kindness here. 💛⛑
~ We will still maintain a "one person, one trolley" requirement. Whilst we understand that some parents need to bring in their children, we would appreciate that they are close to mum or dad throughout the duration of the visit. 👩‍👦
~ Our Sanitising Station will remain in place at the front entrance and we encourage our customers to use it on entry and exit. Our Cleaning Regime has not changed since Level 4 - we will still ensure our trolleys and other high touch points throughout the store are sanitized regularly. 🧹
~ Please take note of the 2mtr distance markers around the Seafood and Service Deli. Live Mussels will continue to be served for you. Our Bulk Foods and loose Bakery items will continue to be prepackaged. 🐠🐬
~ Welcome back to our Lotto team! Please validate your own tickets via the Ticket Checker that is situated next to the Shop n Go cradles and please only present a winning ticket to the operator. Unfortunately you are unable to scratch Instant Kiwi tickets instore.
~ Rug Doctor is also back up and running! Please note that all handles and other high touch points will ne sanitised prior to you checking it out and again upon its return to store.
We appreciate your support as we work towards getting back to some normality! And as always, we thank you for keeping our team safe! 🥰
See you soon!
Stay safe, be kind and #shopsafely 💛🖤💛🖤

With more people returning to work and school in Level 2, we wanted to remind people that since water hasn't been running as frequently through the taps, it's a good idea to run your taps to flush out the system when you return to work.

When left alone in your pipework for an extended period, water can become stagnant and while it's still safe to drink, it may taste unpleasant, so it’s a good idea to run the tap for a while to make sure you have fresh drinking water.

Issues with Facebook

I've experienced anomalies with facebook's service that would be pretty distressing to many in a self-isolation context. I have no gauge on how common or widespread these issues are, but I imagine my SO and I can't be alone in experiencing them—who else has these issues?

- Content disappearing. When looking back through my updates from 2017 and earlier, I notice the content and comments have been removed, but the Likes remain. Not swathes of them, but seemingly at random. I've also never seen them resurface as "memories", as is meant to happen when a post reaches an anniversary.

- No notifications. I know we are all aware of how facebook picks and chooses what we see from pages and groups. But something seems very off when you see nothing for friends for whom you've enabled notifications, even those in your Close Friends list, and they have posted several times throughout the day.

- Friends disappearing without warning. Friends who would never want to lose that connection, that don't deactivate their accounts, and yet vanish from your friends with no record of the action. As if it thinks that if you don't notice, you must not care.

- Slow messages. Really, really slow. One would hope even if everything else was terrible that you could still rely on the messenger. Yet messages are delayed for hours, regularly. Even adjusting for timezone, screenshots of the same conversation will show them being sent and received hours apart—17 hours in one case. You can only wonder how!? Where else did the message go?

These problems have made Facebook so unreliable that it seems almost useless at its core now compared to other platforms... and to be honest it feels like we're being experimented on. But I also wonder if it has caused grief or misunderstanding during lockdown, where old friends have been making time to reconnect.
