Foodstuffs Own Brands Ltd is recalling a selection of its Pams brand sprouts with salmonella being discovered as a result of routine testing.

While New Zealand Food Safety has not received any notification of associated illness, these products have now been removed from shelves at New World, Pak'n Save, and Four Square stores throughout the North Island.

New Zealand Food Safety deputy director general Vincent Arbuckle says "As is our usual practice, New Zealand Food Safety will be working with Foodstuffs to understand how the contamination occurred and prevent its recurrence."

What you need to know:
- The recall includes Pam's 100g punnets of Alfalfa Sprouts, Salad Sprouts, Sandwich Selection Sprouts, and Spicy Sprouts Combo - all with a use-by date of 4 November 2022.
- Affected product should not be eaten, but can be returned to place of purchase for a refund.
- Salmonella poisoning can be serious, especially for people vulnerable to illness, including the very young, the elderly, the pregnant, and those with compromised immune systems.

If you have consumed these products and have health concerns, contact your health professional or call Health Line: 0800 61 11 16.

What more glorious tribute can I bestow on the Wellington Lions provincial rugby team other than mention it here.

As a past executive member of the Wellington Lions Supporters Club, I am in raptures right now except for one biggly niggle.

So we not only won the Ranfurly Shield off Hawkes Bay, but will hold onto it for at least the next 10 months, but we also won the national provincial championship for the first time in 22 years and in appearing within that time in 8 finals.
Taking the Shield from HB was very pleasing as I did travel to Napier one year for a Shield clash only for the Lions to be denied victory in the very last moment by a drop goal from way out.

And beating Canterbury on their home turf in the NPC final by outfoxing them and outperforming their tough forward pack, was a joy to behold.

Here is the niggly bit. WE got a measley three players out of our top 15 Lions side in the AB Fifteen to play two matches in the Northern hemisphere when we should have had up to 12 in this 28-player strong squad.
Our players were hard done by which is another gripe I have against the ABs head coach who had a big say in the team's composition. Don't forget Wellington had a record or near record unbroken run of wins including pulverising Waikato and Auckland in the competition's knock out phases.

Just a thought to finish off, the head coaching job for the Lions has become vacant for the 2023 season. Will Tana Umaga be a contender?

This invasive climber had taken hold of a large area, it spreads along the ground and up our native trees forming a dense mat under which little survives. We also tackled thickets of brambles. Amazing how much was achieved by 10 people!

This is an ongoing project, so if you missed this one and want to be in on future working bees, please message me.

Hi all,
I am selling my Isuzu D-Max LS Dc.

www.trademe.co.nz...

This Ute had a wonderful life and has all the bells and whistles.
Extras I added, around $10,000.00

Nudgebar = when you need to touch-park;
Bonnet guard = protects the bonnet from stone chips and insects,
Door visors (tinted) = you can crack the window when you park to keep the interior cool or when you drive without the wind noise.
Reversing camera = easy to get into a tight park or to hitch a trailer,
Bluetooth head unit = sync your phone and have fun,
Towbar = if you want to hitch a trailer or if someone wants to touch park against you,
Canopy with netting over the windows = Our dogs like to live in luxury and stay cool.
Tray liner to protect the tray if / when you want to use it as a Ute,

This Ute was used almost exclusively to drive long distance when we visit the kids, first down South and later up North.

My daily commute is a 60km round trip and I would on the odd occasion use the Ute and it was parked in the garage except when we were on holiday.

The seats were covered in seat covers since day one and it was only removed today.

It had all the scheduled services on time every time and the full service record is available.
The battery was replaced 05/10/2022.
