Lime e-scooters are returning to the Hutt Valley after more than a year off the streets.
The micromobility company is relaunching in Upper and Lower Hutt on today (Thursday).
Initially, there will be 100 scooters but that will increase in 250 over the next few months.

Initially, there will be 100 scooters but that will increase in 250 over the next few months.
Riders are encouraged to wear a helmet and speed will be restricted in the city centres.

Data from the MetService’s Kelburn monitoring station shows the average wind speed for the first seven days of December has been puffing 10.5kmh more than normal, up from 15.5kmh to 26kmh.
Wellington received 2.5 fewer sunshine hours than average with 47.9 hours, while the average temperature of 17.2 degrees Celsius was below the normal 18.6C.

What a mess. Seems to self there is a lot of dangerous 'skidding / burnouts' occurring recently. Roadside berms and green spaces are also getting churned up.

When Clifford Hallett blows out the candles on his cake in a couple of weeks, he'll likely wish for an extra leave day to celebrate.
Hallett has launched a petition to Parliament requesting it pass legislation to give all employees that right.
