CAN YOU HELP???
Can you help our group of ladies? We knit and crochet blankets, jumpers, hats, scarves, gloves and socks for people in Romania, Moldovia and the Ukraine. There is a desperate need for warm clothing and blankets in these desperately needy areas where war has stripped people of many of the basic needs we take for granted.. Our group is always needing more supplies as we work all year round – we can use up your odd balls or part-balls or even bigger quantities that can make a jumper. We have willing hands but are constantly needing fresh supplies of wool/acrylic. If you can help, we will be very grateful. Just ring me, Pat, on 021-057-0371 and I will arrange to pick up any quantities you may wish to donate.

First introduced in New Zealand in 1927 with the passing of the Summer Time Act, it's what we know as 'Daylight Saving' and this year it ends on the first Sunday in April.
While we do get to sleep in this time around, some people would like to scrap the clock tinkering for good.
And why? Some evidence suggests the time changes are bad for our health as they mess with sleep patterns leading to short-term fatigue and affecting mood. Meanwhile the hour change is frustrating for farmers and a nightmare for getting the littlies to sleep. But what's your take?
