Take a Picnic: Ward … View moreTake a walk: Blairich Recreation Reserve, 12km in from State Highway 1 on the Awatere Valley Rd. The reserve is situated between the road to the north, the Awatere River to the south and the outlet of the Blairich Stream to the west. A freedom camping sites (two night stay).
Take a Picnic: Ward Beach Reserve, an interesting exposed section of coast which is also used by the local fishing industry.
Paddle in the River: Brown River Reserve, a great swimming spot or picnic area. French Pass turnoff, Rai Valley, off State Highway 6.
Go Camping: Ohauparuparu Bay is a remote freedom camping site in the Kenepuru Sound for self-contained vehicles only. It is tidal, allowing boats to launch at high tide. It is a long drive along the Kenepuru Road.
Get Away From it All: Tirimoana Reserve, Anakiwa Rd, a landscaped open space for informal recreation and activities.
Play on the Slide: Vorbach Reserve, Vorback Pl, Renwick. A small neighbourhood reserve with play equipment.
Enjoy the View: Gather some friends and take a walk in the Wither Hills Farm Park from the entrance off Cob Cottage Rd.
